Taking Time To Heal

In the dark night,
When through the fog of warring anesthesia,
And Percocet,
Through swollen eyes,
You see a sweet face...Mom
Refreshing,
Your ice packs,
and
Spirit,
When you feel the fingers,
Of the sweet man that you married,
Brush through your hair,
And his lips,
Softly,
Gently,
Upon your forehead,
When you hear the sound of your children laughing,
With Umpa....

You know you are loved.

Permission

I know you are tired,
From many nights,
Unrest,
You have a full life,
And heart,
It's ok to let go,
For a moment,
Of all of the,
Responsibilities,
That constantly,
Loom,
To close your eyes
And take
Deep,
Slow,
Breaths...
And just
Be.

A Nose By Any Other Name

The problem in place,
Is as plain as the nose on my face.
It is broken and brittle and moved out of place,
And so for a solution, I chased.

Doc,"Tell me that you can, with ease"
"Make it possible for me to breathe?"
He asked how did this happen?
I thought back and decided,
It was the day the skateboard and my face had collided.

I was four, maybe five, on that fateful day,
And I decided I wanted to play.
On the skateboard that my daddy had,
And oh, did that turn out BAD.

I sat down and he said to me,"Hold on tight!"
And pulled me back to get some momentum,
Then my head jerked back,
And my face went SPLAT!
And it has never been the same since then.

And so Doc said, "We must do surgery,"
"To get your nose back to the way,
 it's supposed to be."

And so three days from now,
I will finally see,
How it feels,
 To REALLY BREATHE!

I am a little nervous so wish me LUCK,

Not So Powerless After-all

Tragedies littering our world,
Daily.
My heart breaking,
Aching.
Powerless
I feel,
To make a difference,
To Aid,
To Comfort,
To Assist.
Prayer,
Is what I offer.
Tears,
Many.
My God,
Watching over, Protecting,
I sometimes,
 Wonder.
My Faith,
Shaken,
But not,
Lost.
The Power,
I lack,
To Change,
 The Weather,
Natural Disasters,
The Hearts,
Of others.
Suddenly,
 I see,
I perform,
Without thinking,
A Random Act,
Of Kindness.
 And in a Strangers Eyes,
 I See God,
And Realize,
That As Powerless,
As I Sometimes Feel,
If I Choose,
I Have The Ability,
To Make,
A Difference.

"It is our choicesHarry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."

Everything

I cannot ask for more,
I have been blessed abundantly,
Beyond measure,
One, Two, Three.

My Soulmate,
My Eternal Companion,
He is the one I Have Spent, and Will Spend, many Lifetimes Loving.
A Good Man,
A Fantastic Husband,
An Amazing Father,
My Best Friend,
My Everything.

Then...

Out of this amazing love,
Came more amazing love.

A Son,
Oh my...
There are just no words delicious enough to describe this precious soul.
He alone has the power to speak to my heart,
Without words.
He inspires me.
He is my Teacher,
My Student,
My Sunshine,
My First Born,
My Everything.

She...
Elle
She is a splendid sip of pure light.
The beauty of her soul is matched only by,
The beauty of her eyes.
She is the reflection of perfection.
She is my Teacher,
She is my Student,
My Sunshine,
My Everything.

Who says you can't have Everything?

Bohemian Heart- Dior Pumps

In all equal parts,
I am hippie-gypsy heart,
And Dior pumps.
I am Prana. Asana. Savasana.
I am sassy, sexy,
And stinky mommy.
I am energized,
I am exhausted,
I am clarity,
I am confusion,
I am wild,
With a schedule.
I am rip my clothes off,
And not tonight.
I am take me far, far, away,
With a curfew.
I am vulnerable,
And guarded.
I am, I need help,
And stubborn.
I am grounded,
And a million miles away.
At the end of the day,
When I am finally alone,
I light candles,
I meditate,
I pour a glass of wine.
I am me,
I am free,
In all equal parts,
I am hippie-gypsy heart,
And Dior pumps.

So I Choose Love

So everything around me begs me to be cynical.
So racism and prejudice are alive and rampant.
So hate fuels most of the consuming parts of our culture...Politics/Religion.
So I want a better world.
So I crave more from this earthly existence.
So I want to look around and see beauty.
So I want deep, deep, meaningful experiences for my children.
So I have a choice.
So we all have a choice.
So I Choose Love.
